Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about our housing, pricing, process and what is included.

What is shared housing or co-living?

Shared housing, also called co-living, means you rent your own room or a bed in a shared room inside a furnished home, and share the kitchen, living areas and laundry with other members. At Housing Done Wright, one weekly or monthly payment covers your room, furniture, all utilities and Wi-Fi.

How much do rooms cost in Phoenix?

Shared rooms are $165 per week or $650 per month. Private rooms are $210 per week or $800 per month. Large private rooms are $285 per week or $1,100 per month. Paying monthly saves money compared with paying weekly.

What are the move-in costs?

A $50 processing/background fee is due when you complete your application. At move-in, you pay a $180 refundable security deposit and your first week’s or month’s rent, depending on how you choose to pay.

Are utilities and Wi-Fi included?

Yes. Electricity, water, gas, trash, Wi-Fi and cable TV are all included in the weekly or monthly rent at every Housing Done Wright home.

Are the rooms furnished?

Yes. Every room comes furnished with a bed, dresser and flat-screen TV with cable. Homes include furnished common living areas and equipped kitchens with assigned cupboard and refrigerator space for each member.

Do you offer weekly or monthly payments?

Yes. Rent can be paid weekly or monthly. There is no lease: members sign a simple month-to-month agreement, similar to a gym membership, with a one-month minimum stay.

Do you run a credit or background check?

Housing Done Wright does not run a credit check. Background checks are reviewed case by case, and we believe in second chances. We cannot accept applicants with convictions for arson, sexual offenses, hate crimes or extremely violent crimes.

Do you accept SSI or SSDI?

Yes. Many members live on Social Security, SSI, SSDI, disability or retirement income. There is no income minimum and no credit score requirement, but you must be able to pay rent on time.

Is Housing Done Wright sober living or a halfway house?

No. Our homes are drug-free shared housing, not a sober living program, halfway house or treatment facility. Responsible alcohol use is allowed. We do not provide case management or supportive services on site.

Can couples apply?

Some of our large private rooms fit one to two people. Contact us to ask whether a room for two is available.

Is laundry and parking available?

Each home has on-site, coin-operated laundry, usually $1.50 to wash and $1.50 to dry. Garage parking is available for an additional weekly fee on a first-come, first-served basis.

Where are your homes located?

Housing Done Wright has 17 shared homes in the Phoenix, Arizona area. Most are around 19th Avenue and Buckeye Road near downtown Phoenix, with easy access to public transportation. Others are in central Phoenix, west Phoenix and Maryvale. Albuquerque, New Mexico and Denver, Colorado are coming soon.

How quickly can someone move in?

Start with our quick online form, then complete the prescreener and review the house rules. If a room is open, you can book a tour. After your tour and interview, once you are approved and pay the move-in costs, we set your move-in date.

How do I move out?

Give 7 days' notice, complete the move-out form, and leave your room and your cabinet and refrigerator space clean and ready for the next member.
